The PezCA platform, developed by the Federación Costarricense de Pesca (FECOP) in collaboration with Sancochero Labs, presents a robust tool aimed at enhancing fisheries management in the Central America region. This near-real-time satellite and model data distribution system is designed not only for monitoring ocean conditions but also for promoting sustainable fishing practices.

PezCA offers users complimentary access to a wealth of information, including updated maps featuring critical metrics such as sea surface temperature, chlorophyll concentration, current speed and direction, altimetry, bathymetry, and thermocline depth. Users can access this data even when offline, making it particularly convenient in remote areas.

The platform serves a diverse range of stakeholders, including commercial and recreational fishermen, the tourism sector, and local communities. Key features of PezCA include:

• Near-real-time maps of satellite data covering both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans along Central America (0-19°N, 76.5-96°W), with the ability to obtain data values for specific points of interest.
